Malësia e Kelmendit shtrihet në skajin verior të Alpeve Shqiptare. Në kuptimin etnografik, fisi i Kelmendit bën pjesë në malet e Malësise së Madhe. Sipas shtrirjes së vjetër fisnore Kelmendi kufizohet me Hotin, Kastratin dhe Shalën në jug, me Gash e Krasniqe në lindje, kurse me Vasojeviçët, Kuçin, Triepshin dhe Gruden në veri. Banorët e këtij fisi, banojnë kryesisht rreth dy burimeve të lumit Cem, Vuklit dhe Selcës dhe lumit të Vermoshit. Komuna e Kelmendit sot ka 6344 banorë, të përqëndruar në fshatrat: Vermosh, Lëpushë, Selcë, Tamarë, Brojë, Kozhnja, Nikç, dhe Vukël. … Vazhdoni ne shqip : http://sq.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelmendi Kelmend (or Klementi, Serbian: Клименти, Klimenti) is an Albanian Region, known as the Klementi Mountain, (alb; Mali i Kelmenit) originating from Malesia, now known as the Malësi e Madhe District in Albania, and surrounding ethnic Albanian territories. The families can be found in Albania, Montenegro, and Kosovo. Kelmendi is also the largest Albanian tribe within Malesia, as a result to the largest population and land within Malësia territory. The extended regions of Vuthaj and Martinaj are located in Montenegro, and Rugova is located in Kosovo. These towns are populated by descendents of Kelmendi. The clan was once an all- Roman Catholic clan. The region properly called Kelmend is still 100% Catholic. However, the branch of Kelmendi called Rugova, is predominantly of the Muslim faith. Religion cannot be taken as a factor that defines the identity of the Kelmendi region. On the contrary, the Kelmendi region is and has always been secular.
